Why Choose Adventist Health Specialty Bakersfield for Joint Surgery

Why Choose Adventist Health Specialty Bakersfield for Joint Surgery?

Our Joint Replacement Center is staffed by a multi-disciplinary team made up of physicians, nurses, physical therapists and case managers. Working together, our skilled professionals provide a full complement of patient services:

Pre-operative Education Class

This class which is led by our physical therapist takes place a few days before surgery and is designed to inform the patient as to what they can expect throughout the entire process of joint replacement surgery. Usually lasting an hour, we will address the concerns of each individual patient, answer questions, and begin the process of home health and equipment issues. The goal here is to put the patient’s mind at ease and in so doing, make the joint replacement process more relaxed. Care-givers are strongly encouraged to attend this class as well.

Advanced Planning for Hospital Care and Post Hospital Care

A case manager will be on hand prior to your surgery to discuss your options for post hospital care. We are here to make the transition back home as smooth as possible.

Discharge Plans, Addressing Special Patient Needs

Adventist Health Specialty Bakersfield was established with the concept of “patient focused care” as one of its core values. For that reason, patients in our Joint Replacement Program receive personalized, one-on-one attention throughout the duration of their stay. We strive to make the patient and their loved ones an integral part of the care team who collaborate with health care professionals in making clinical decisions.
